In 1934, Frank E. Stein, a lumberman and sawmill operator by trade, bought property in Gladstone, Oregon and cleared an apple orchard using a team of draft horses and a Fresno land-leveling implement. With the help of his neighbor, Frank began the Stein and Jeep Oil Company, and installed two vertical tanks on the cleared property where they would store leaded fuel and make bulk deliveries of fuel to local farmers.

From its beginnings, Stein Oil has grown within the local Clackamas County community, while expanding and diversifying its offerings. As a company with over eighty years of successful business, we plan to continue to serve the region with our commitment to customer service and community participation.

Stein Oil has long had ties to the Oregon City Rotary Club, as well as maintaining active membership in the the Chamber of Commerce both in Oregon City and Canby. The principals of Stein Oil have also maintained a commitment to Clackamas Community College with on going contributions and participation in the CCC Board of Directors.
